Timber Fruit Cages - Fruit Cages made from timber have a rugged and natural look and are the ideal fruit cage to enhance the more classic kitchen garden. The substantial 102mm (4") tanalised round uprights create the robust quality of the cage and the 102mm (4") half round roof supports complete the structure. These fruit cages create attractive features as well as protecting your garden fruit and vegetables.

The cage comprises of uprights and supports, extra heavy-duty side netting with a 16mm x 16mm square mesh, heavy-duty anti-bird roof netting with a 20mm x 20mm diamond mesh, all fittings and one complete door kit.

The set distance between uprights is 3.6m, Harrod Horticultural recommend hiring a post driver to assist with inserting the uprights 457mm (18") into the ground. When erected the cage sits 2m out of the ground.
On the larger cages the internal cross supports are achieved using plastic coated wire at tension to prevent sagging of the roof netting.
Fully illustrated instructions are included to ensure accurate construction.
For areas seriously affected by rabbits or deer an additional layer galvanised steel wire mesh GDN-036 can be applied over the heavy-duty side netting.
Butterfly netting is also available.
