This year, the branch committee has added a new class specifically with Children in mind to encourage them to grow.  This was a passion of the late Arthur Provan and his wife Margaret has given the branch a generous donation in Arthur’s memory to help encourage junior growers.

The new class is an open class for children (16 and under) to enter, for one pumpkin (seeds to be provided by the branch ).  By being an open class, the child does not need to be a member of the NVS to enter the competition.

The winner will also be presented with the inaugural Provan Junior Trophy.

If you wish a child to enter, please contact Fiona Shenfield and she will send you pumpkin seeds to grow.  ( Tel 07740 137 204).

The Branch has purchased seeds from one of our sponsors Kings seeds  for this years competition.  It's called Baby Bear.

The class is for x 1 Kings seeds Baby Bear Pumpkin.

Neil Muirhead, Ian Simpson and Fiona Shenfield will be at Dobbies Garden Centre , Dunfermline on Sunday morning 3rd May  supporting the Little Growers Gardening club and teaching the children to grow pumpkins  with free "Baby Bear" seeds, pots and compost to help them get started.
