We use the personal data, which you have provided, to supply you with the information, reference material, regulations, notes, guidelines or advice, which you have requested. The information and personal data is only collected and used for the purpose(s) for which it was provided. It is never sold or shared with any third parties and accordingly the National Vegetable Society has no need or intention of data protection registration. Your details are collected when you complete forms, request reference material, regulations, notes, guidelines or advice, or when you send us an email. We also use cookies and aggregate information.

undertake research or statistical analysis in relation to NVS membership
add your professional details to event delegate lists where relevant to facilitate networking. (You can opt out of this when booking any NVS event.)
Who might we share your information with?
We will never share your information with third parties.
If you choose to appear on an event delegate list then we will share your name and role. This list may be seen by sponsors and exhibitors attending the event.
In addition, we may disclose your personal information:

in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk).
Security of your personal information
We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.
Of course, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. We will not ask you for your password (except when you log in to the website).
How long do we keep hold of your information?
Retention is based on legal or statutory obligation to retain the data, where there is a need to retain the data to carry out the purpose or best practice.
The NVS does not retain credit card information once a transaction has been processed.

We may update this privacy policy from time-to-time by posting a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have certain rights in regards to the data we hold about you. You can ask us to delete your personal data, change any inaccuracies, restrict what we use your personal data for or ask us to stop processing your data. You can also request that the data we hold about you is given back to you or given to another service provider in a commonly used format. This is called data portability. You are also entitled to a copy of the information we hold about you. However, there are some restrictions that apply to these requests, such as where we have overriding legal requirements we have to comply with.
