Zoom Talk - Simon Smith - Growing Cucumbers and Tomatoes

Simon has entered both tomatoes and cucumbers at pretty much every show he has ever contested since he started exhibiting in 1994, and has enjoyed a lot of success with them. Tomatoes was his first NVS win at the Midlands Branch championships in 2010 beating Medwyn into 2nd place amongst 31 other dishes. And a couple of years later a 4th for cucumbers was his first National championship ticket, also at Malvern. Simon has had several tickets at nationals since, although a red card has thus far eluded him. 

Tomatoes and Cucumbers are two classes that are always well contested at most shows, local or national, and two crops Simon believes absolutely anyone can grow to a very high standard and even win tickets at The NVS national championships, as long as you are prepared to put in time and effort and pay attention to detail.
