In this Zoom talk, Iain Barbour will take us behind the scenes of the UK seed potato industry, exploring the work of Jamieson Brothers, seed potato grading and cultivation, the preservation of historic potato varieties, and the innovations that have helped make the company the UK's largest horticultural seed potato supplier.
Iain Barbour has been at the forefront of Jamieson Brothers, Annan, helping establish the company's online business in 2003 and driving its growth into the UK's largest horticultural seed potato supplier. Passionate about preserving potato heritage, Iain played a key role in reintroducing the historic varieties Amour, Sherine, and Purple Eyed Seedling for the National Vegetable Society (NVS). In 2013, Jamieson Brothers set a world record by displaying 667 potato varieties in a single day at one location, highlighting Iain's commitment to celebrating and conserving potato diversity.
