The Southern Branch of the NVS covers an area of England south of a line drawn  between the Severn Estuary just north of Bristol, across to the East Coast just  south of Clacton-on-Sea encompassing London and extending south to include the Island of Jersey. Locally within the Branch we currently have six District  Associations (DA’s) which run along county lines, although our Hants DA also includes members living in counties west of Hampshire.

Our Committee meets four times a year, normally in Surrey which has good road links and the AGM has been rotating around the DA’s. Our DA’s actively promote the Society in their local areas and each organise visits to local gardens as well  as talks being given at the various DA meetings. All DA’s host a mini show where the DA members can exhibit the produce of their labours, and hopefully may win a prize card.

The annual Southern Branch Championships is held at the end of July and is hosted by the New Forest & Hampshire County Show at the showground in  Brockenhurst. We also support events at the RHS Gardens in Wisley, the RHS Gardens at Hyde Hall, the South of England Showground in Ardingly, the Kent Show in Detling and the Royal Jersey Agricultural Society shows in Jersey. The Hants DA also supports several events in the Southwest of England.
