As with any new system there are always a few challenges to overcome!! Our new system is designed to streamline our membership process for both you as the member and also our volunteers who manage your memberships, reducing the amount of time required.
Part of the membership functionality is the opportunity to pay by Direct Debit , which as well as becoming increasingly popular meets the objectives for us in reducing drastically the time taken to process memberships. So have you ever considered changing to Direct Debit?? Did you know that approximately 75% of the UK’s population have a Direct Debit instruction set up on their bank account and on average people have at 5 Direct Debits or more set up?
By changing to Direct Debit this gives you as the member an easy way to make sure your membership is always paid on time, backed with the security Direct Debit brings. So we would make a really big plea to you to seriously consider changing to Direct Debit to both benefit yourself and the NVS. This can be done for all categories of membership. If you are a current member and want to change just click the link below and complete the simple online form to set a Direct Debit up. This is the only action you need to take to set up a Direct Debit for 2021 onwards.
Alternative ways to pay
However we do recognise that there will be members and Societies who wish to continue using other payment methods which is not an issue. Please note if you are a Society you can only renew here if you are setting up a Direct Debit. If you pay by cheque etc please continue to do so in the normal manner via your Membership Secretary
Pay by card
If you are a current member who wishes to renew by Card payment for the year 2021 please use the Join Us facility and complete the form as if you were a new member.
Your payment will be processed as normal and your membership will be unaffected. This is simply a small workaround for us to administer in the database. You will receive a confirmation email thanking you for joining the NVS etc but please only take this as confirmation of a successful card payment.
We appreciate that for this workaround for card renewals is not a perfect solution. However, the most important point is that it has no affect on your membership. If you are unsure or need help with your renewal click on the Help button below to send an email
